Can you remember your first race? What comes to mind immediately? Was it the nerves, the crowd, the finish line?
As you prepared for that first race, who was your CEO? How much influence did your CEO have in your life at that particular time? Did you interact with continuity and was there feedback given along the way? Did your CEO make suggestions that you found obscure or out of line?
Ok, Ok…I’ll let you in now! Your CEO was and IS the most important reason that you are still training and competing today.
By now I am quite certain that know my underlying intent, which is not in writing about the Chief Executive Officer at your place of employment! Much to the contrary is the motivation of this post…
Your C.E.O. is your very own “CHIEF ENCOURAGEMENT OFFICER!”
Who has been there for you from the very beginning? Who has put up with your roller coaster of emotions? Who has sacrificed sleep to deliver you to the starting line? Most importantly, who has been waiting for you at each and every finish line you have ever crossed? This person is whom you should feel accountable to. This person is the reason that you are able to continue to do what you love to do. This person loves you more than you love yourself.
Encouragement is an essential ingredient in the “PERSISTENCE PIE” and without it, you are sunk…destined for burnout!
Find your CEO and never let that person go!
