“IF you want something that you have never had before you must do something you have never done before.”
I recently read this statement in Bob Beaudine’s book “The Power of Who.” The point that Bob was making is that new things don’t JUST HAPPEN. I loved the author’s words and felt them consistent with the theme of this blog.
A few question for you:
Was there specific adversity that you were forced to deal with? How did that affect you?
Did you start anything new in 2014? (and for that matter, are you still engaged?)
My point here is that experience is a good teacher, BUT evaluated experience is a GREAT teacher. Are things good or are they catastrophic? Either way, there is no question in my mind that you stand to benefit from change in the days ahead. Remember “if you want something that you have never experienced in 2014, you’re gonna have to do something that will be outside of your comfort zone….
Great thoughts Bo, I’ve heard this preached before in a similar format. It holds true no matter how you apply it, for a different outcome, you need a different input!
To answer your questions:
1. When Sophia was born, we faced financial adversity. It had been tough, but manageable to that point, but when she was born it was a wake-up call that something needed to change.
2. I started a new job, pretty much going into business for my self, but with a strong support and accountability network with Northwestern Mutual. Yes, I am still engaged!! I’m all in for that matter, I’ve been told so many times that I cannot have a plan B. It’s this or the soup kitchen…so my engagement is at 150%!!!!
Tim, this comment is so encouraging. I appreciate your transparency my friend. You are a great dad and I am confident that you will make your new position at NW Mutual a successful one. You have drive and iron-clad determination and there is nothing in my mind that believes you will not be a HUGE success. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your thoughts.
