Part 22 of a 26 part series.

No man (or woman) is an island. No single person is responsible for ALL of his or her acclaim and success. We were created for fellowship with one another and a critical component of this is vulnerability.

Vulnerability represents authenticity. Vulnerability tells the world that you need help. Vulnerability builds trust and solidifies relationships. Why, because no one is perfect nor enjoys others who act as if they are.

It is a proven fact that the best performers in the world (executives, athletes, musicians, actors, etc) have a coach. A coach is someone with whom to be vulnerable with. Sharing concern, showcasing anxiety, demonstrating weakness are all necessary for growth. Vulnerability speeds up the process because there is no time wasted on breaking through self-imposed boundaries most often built by pride.

Furthermore, in any close relationship trust serves as the foundation. Trust cannot be built without vulnerability. Sharing setbacks, struggles and weakness has an incredible affect on those whom you choose to share.

Vulnerability is not a sign of human frailty but rather authenticity on which powerful relationships are and can be created. If you can manage to find comfort with vulnerability, victory in those specific areas will be sure to follow!
