Trust your Training

This post is rated Sprinters, Olympians and Ironman.

It seems like life is in a hurry. We want immediate feedback, instant gratification and measurable progress. I cannot even remember what life was like without a microwave, a cell phone or the internet.

Let’s slow things down a bit shall we? You are on a journey and wherever you are right now, you have made it happen. Your success is a direct result of your effort; your’s and your’s alone. So when considering the continuity of your journey in this new month, think about what can be consistent and repeatable.

If you have made it your goal to run a 5k this spring or an Ironman in the summer, your destination will impact what you do today. The most important thing you can do for your 5K or your Ironman today is CONTINUE SLOW AND STEADY.

The power of slow and steady is that it builds your confidence. Most likely you told someone of your destination before you started. No doubt, someone will witness you reach your destination in the competition that you are preparing for. What no one else will see, however is today or tomorrow. The “messy middle” is what is so crucial on your journey to reach your destination.

Let me encourage you today as we move into a new month (a one day closer to your destination) to stay consistent in your efforts. “Trust Your Training” and the rest will take care of itself!
