Stop it

Today’s post is part 9 of a 10 part series: “10 Ways to Conquer Your Comfort Zone.”

Easier said that done, right? If you had the power to stop whatever it is that is hindering your personal growth, there would be no need for this ongoing series, (I say again…right?)

Why do we struggle each and every day of our lives in some form or fashion? Why can’t everything happen exactly according to plan and without turmoil? If you are seriously contemplating these 2 questions, you are a prime candidate for today’s post!

WAKE UP!!! This world is tough, and you my friend are not the center of the universe. There are over 6 billion people alive today and we all struggle with our place at some point or another. Ultimately, we all hope to do more of what we love and less of what we don’t. Why do you think it is that you struggle (more than you like) with the things you know are of no benefit to your life? What about your comfort zones?

What is it about your life that you despise, yet cannot bring yourself to change? Take a minute to think while I present to you the words of the apostle Paul in the book of Romans 7:15: For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. Paul was responsible for writing most of the New Testament and was considered a scholar. There is so much truth in this statement, don’t you think?

Why is it so hard for us to STOP the habits we wish would die? Sadly, we are our own worst enemies and regularly impose stumbling blocks on our path of progress. Unfortunately it is not the knowing that ensures the doing. You may know that texting while driving is dangerous, but that does cause you to place your phone out of reach when getting behind the wheel? You may know that eating late at night is not good for your waistline but that does make the temptation shrink? We know the problem with our comfort zones, but can we do what it takes to overcome them?

When you try to “STOP IT”….THINK (struggle-train-overcome-persevere)
