Missing something?

This post is rated Sprinters, Olympians and Ironman.

What time is it right now? Go on, look at your watch…

Can you take inventory of everything you have accomplished today? Are you feeling confident or regretful? Has there been a moment today lost in the random flow of your life. Random…let’s examine this word for just a minute.

Random is not cumulative.

Random provides no long term benefits.

Random happens when you do nothing to prevent it.

Random is the opposite of intent.

If you feel like time is getting away from you and that you are indeed “missing it,” I challenge you to do something about it. Ok, let’s get practical. Have you completed your workouts for the day? Have you recorded what you accomplished complete with time and perceived exertion and heart rate data? These are all things that can be measured and from personal experience I can say that what gets measured MATTERS. Did you swim? How’d it feel? Were you happy with your 100 splits? WRITE IT DOWN!

Now, if you have yet to perform your workouts and are reading this post…PLEASE BE INTENTIONAL AND PLAN ON JOURNALING UPON COMPLETION. Intentional is the opposite of random. Intentional is deliberate and involves discipline and focus. Intentional is cumulative. After all, the more you know (about your fitness progress) the more you’ll grow.

You only have 24 hours in this day…..Oh, and guess what, you really only have THIS moment. So, what are you going to do?
