Making a Milestone

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a published author. I am not exactly sure where this desire originated but it has been alive and well for the last 15 years of my life. You might be asking “if you have wanted to write a book for so long, then why has it taken so long?” Ah…the battle of intention!

Ideas and intentions are meaningless unless acted upon. I love the famous quote by Sir Winston Churchill: “Courage is the first of human qualities because it… guarantees all the others.” Courage in my case was the willingness to executer what I knew would be difficult. I have never written a book before, where would I even begin? The questions created fear as my mind continued to convince me that I wasn’t worthy of writing a book….

The battle continued for far too long until I finally decided to commit. Last summer, I put together a writing plan. I would write for a pre-determined period every day until my manuscript was complete. I will NEVER forget the first day I sat down and stared into the empty screen of my laptop. I can honestly say that was one of the most intimidating experiences of my life.

As we all know the best way to conquer our fears is to face them and fight them. So…I STARTED TO WRITE! One day led to another to a week and then a month and within 7 weeks, I had created my first official draft of The Problem with Perfect! One year later and after countless hours of editing, cover design, marketing consultations and tour scheduling…I am now introducing you to my manuscript!

The Problem with Perfect

The book is now available wherever books are sold. I met a milestone in my life and if I can do it…YOU CAN TO…
