Is Your Brain Full?

Are you growing or are you dying?

There is no such thing as staying the same.

A mentor of mine once told me that the day I stop learning is the day I start dying.

A few years ago, I made it my goal to learn something new each day.

In January of 2010, I began journaling the new insights I gathered each day. I reached the end of the month and had 31 new and interesting ideas. I decided to continue…

February came and went and I had 29 new ideas recorded in my journal. Again, I decided to keep it going.

March rolled around and after having 2 months of new knowledge I couldn’t stop then….

I guess you can see where this is going!

The result of this project is a bound and laminated 25 page production affectionately titled “My Learn List.”

Why do I share this now?? I was at my grandmother’s house on Christmas Eve and she had pulled out some of my dad’s old keepsakes. He had a stamp collection, a coin collection but what caught my attention was his address book. As I opened it and began flipping through the pages, I noticed that the phone numbers were only 5 digits. Now remember, this address book was created in 1960….

I asked my dad where the other 2 digits on his phone numbers were. It was at this moment that I learned telephone numbers used to be 5 (not 7 or 9) digits in length! Now that would have made a great addition to my 2010 “Learn List!” But then again, I could always do another one…what about you??

WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED TODAY? WHAT WILL YOU LEARN TODAY? WRITE IT DOWN OR YOU WON’T REMEMBER IT ONE YEAR FROM NOW!

  1. Today I learned that you just don’t know how good a situation could be until you walk through the door and try it. Trust in people and faith in God go a long way to living an amazing, exciting life!
