A triathlon is composed of the following:

athletes
starting line
water
roads/paths/trials
finish line
timing chip
timing clock

Ultimately your success is tied directly to your TIME and how it compares with other athletes. CAPTAIN OBVIOUS HERE!!!

With this in mind, today I introduce a time-savings series entitled “Every Moment Matters.” The premise of this series will be to provide tips and practices for maximizing the time you spend out on the course. These are just a few of the things I’ve learned over the last 9 years of racing.

I will address each of the following over the next 4 days:

The Transition area (both T1 and T2)

The Swim (wetsuit removal, goggle placement, sighting strategies, drafting)

The Bike (nutrition placement, shoe position, helmet strap placement)

The Run (how to approach an aid station, socks or no socks, breathing techniques)

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET….tomorrow WE GO!
