Competition

What does competition do to you? Does it make you better or does it make you smaller? Let’s consider a series of contrasts as we work through this realization:

Does it BOTHER you or BLESS you?

Does it GROUND you or GROW you?

Does it CRUSH you or CHALLENGE you?

Does it HINDER you or HELP you?

Does it DESTROY you or DEVELOP you?

Does it SCARE you or STRETCH you?

Does it THREATEN you or TEACH you?

Does it SET YOU BACK or SET YOU UP?

Walt Disney once said “a challenge introduces a person to his true character.” Competition undoubtedly presents a challenge to anyone. How will you respond?

If you are a person that feels threatened by competition, I would ask that you reconsider your posture. Whomever the competition may be at this particular point in life, I would encourage you to initiate a relationship. After all, competition makes us all better because it forces us to stay sharp and never grow comfortable with what has worked in the past.
